Who Needs the Easter Bunny?

What a great Easter Dinner we had at the Snead house yesterday! Debbie & Ben & Katie, we all thank you so much for letting us meet at your beautiful home. Everyone contributed delicious food and drinks and I ate some of each item - yum, yum(burp), although it's a good thing I had all that nourishment because at 6:30 this morning, Danny & I were awakened by a weird cracking, screeching, horrible sound somewhere outside. Sounded like from above, but we couldn't really tell because it was loud and then gone. We looked outside and found that one of our huge, old oak trees had simply fallen over...over Rosalind Avenue! The tree had splintered at a point about 4-5 feet from the ground and the rest of it's 50 ft fell perfectly straight across our street. The branches (about 15ft of the 50) fell into the yards of our two very kind, elderly neighbors. Not sure what to do, we called 911 and the police came quickly and...put up a sign in front of the tree stating "STREET CLOSED." That helped not at all since the cars were 2 feet away from the tree when they were able to read it...here's your sign...
Oh well, after many phone calls to the city, a crew did come out and clear the street, but we are left with lots of huge branches in our yard & our 2 neighbors' yards, and thousands of little branches everywhere! Also, somewhere under a branch across the street, are a mangled wrought iron railing and some crushed shrubs. If anyone has any ideas how to deal with this, please let us know. It's mostly upsetting because, except for us, all our neighbors have nicely landscaped lawns. I suppose we just need to ask them what they want us to replace. $$$$$$$$$hi_!!!!!
I guess now we will be forced to deal with the giant trees that are left and maybe we'll even do some landscaping ourselves! Yeah, that $ound$ nice! In the meantime, Danny & I will be outside with our chainsaw & rake, hoping the neighbors think we're the Asplunde men so they won't ask any questions like "why didn't you have that big ole dead tree cut down before it fell?"

What Time Is It?

I hope all of you are adjusting to Daylight Saving Time. Except for staying up till 2am and then sleeping till 10 am, I'm doing fine...Hopefully I'll be used to it soon because Saturday I'm heading to Richmond to help Lynn & Brian move into their new house. I am anxious to see them and see the house again.
Kelly is having her wisdom teeth (luckily, she only has 2) removed Thursday, so I'll be spending some quality time with her Thurs & Fri - right, because she won't be able to get away from!
I'll be home from Richmond Tuesday, just enough time to wash and pack for a nice relaxing week at Atlantic Beach with Danny.
Soooo, that's my fun 2 week plan, then I'm back home to reality, working on my taxes and trying to make my house look like I have spent at least a little time cleaning it-don't count on it, there's always something much better to do: play with Davis and Mary Fowler or have coffee with the girls. Those are my favorites.
Well, keep track of the new time and remember we love you! ~V~
