Lastly, my winter break plans, I am riding with a friend to Roanoke on December 14th!! Then flying from Roanoke to NY on either the 20th or the 21st (booking my flights this evening)!
So I just wanted to make sure everyone was on the same page and I cannot wait to see you all!!!!
I'm posting because I just finished making my school schedule, met my roommate and am starting to get very excited about life at W&M!!
I wanted to just feel out everyone's plans for Thanksgiving (I know it's a long way away, but it's my first long-ish break)! I'm hoping to join you all for the holiday! Just wanted to know where people will be spending those few days!

7/19/10 Can't believe I am the first to add Camille, born 7/3/10, and Mattox, born 7/6/10, to this blog. I will leave it up to the photo buffs to put in additional information and pics. We are also to meet a previously unknown grandchild/cousin/niece on the 21st. Megan Raines, 26. Expanding all the time.
I hope all you dads out there had a wonderful day Sunday. We had a nice cook-out with the the Sharps, Stan, Paul and Debbie, Livi's family and Brian, Lindsay & 6 month old Gavin. What a cutie! Kelly and her boyfriend, Dave, came too. We ate chili dogs, chicken and squash casserole, salad and potatoes, but I think what most helped me GAIN the 3.2 lbs this week at Wt Watchers was dessert: sugar cookies with lemon frosting, lime and strawberry pies, AND chocolate eclair cake....yeah, definitely the cake. Oh well, it sure was delicious! And meeting Gavin was great since Debbie and I will be meeting new grandchildren soon. As you know, Emily is now due June 30th and Lynn is due July 14th. Jeannie is hoping someone will give birth on July 9th, so maybe Lynn will do that - I don't think Emily will wait! Sorry we didn't get to see more of my family (I hope everyone is well), but you know there are more possible summer celebrations, so we must try to be together soon! Love you all, Vicki
Have enjoyed lunches with daughters in the last two weeks and have caught up on Mattox and Camille and their mothers and fathers and on love lifes of the unmarried. AND I HAVE FINALLY LEARNED TO POST A BLOG. Jean
This is the time of year when we remember our Mothers. It's a sweet and sentimental time when children honor their mothers with gifts and acts of thoughtfulness. I hope all the mothers and mothers-to-be will enjoy this precious video of 2 young men creating a keepsake for their beloved Mom.
With my love to all the Moms in my life and with fond memories of and heartfelt thanks to those who are no longer with me.
March & April are big birthday and anniversary months for the clan. April is also the month where we remember the clan patriarch and celebrate the heritage we are blessed to share because of him. And...maybe it's a good season to remember other dear family members who are no longer here with us...
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. The newest date to celebrate: February 21, 2010 - Emily's wedding! It was a small, simple ceremony in Santa Fe at a lovely inn in the city. She and George were able to take a short honeymoon to Florida (it was cold!), but it was the last possible time to take a trip as Emily's pregnancy now prevents air travel. And, as most of you know, her "pink" bundle is due to arrive July 3rd!
2. Lynn and Brian will welcome their "blue" bundle in mid-July. From all accounts, Lynnie is doing Maahvelously(!) and I can tell you that she looks fabulous, too.
3. Katie has finished her clinical hours for her Professional Therapist license! She must sit for the exam (hopefully in June) and then she'll "be legal". Big news is that her current employer is no longer requiring supervisees to repay their hours. That means, if she chooses to go to other employment, she will not be charged a fee for her license supervision. This is good news!
Hope all the January-April birthdays and anniversaries enjoy this little message, belated but genuine!

Gee whiz, the New Year is passing so quickly. The wonderful January birthdays have already come and gone - we hope Emily, Adam and Ben had great days! As always, I am ready to meet for dinner or any other way you'd like to celebrate. There are lots of February birthdays, too, so we will have to get together soon. Love to you all! ~V~
I spent my Sunday afternoon cooking Boeuf Bourguignon!! And (thankfully) it turned out amazing, if I do say so myself!!!
Last night my friends and I went out for a birthday, so I didn't get home until around 1 am!
Therefore, I started my Boeuf a little later than hoped for, around (1pm), but we were eating by 7! The recipe is easy, just time consuming. I also made buttered peas to go with it which took 4 minutes ha!

I think we say "twenty-ten" for this new year - I'm ok with that; two-thousand ten is just fussy! I hope this year is good to all of us. We, of course, are so excited about the new baby we are "getting" and the new Cullather-Jalbert baby's arrival. I believe the blog will be a bit more active with the addition of Danielle to our authors! She has promised regular updates on her culinary experiments (a la Julie & Julia). So, visit the blog often! Wanted to add a little info about the Christmas gift giving. We (not just me!) decided that with the economy so poor and lots of belt-tightening going on, the limit on cost of the gift should be $15.00. We also thought it would be fun to have a "theme" and at Keith's suggestion, we selected "Home Made". So...anything from something you cook to something you sew or assemble, it must be at least partly home-made. Happy creating! Will post more news about upcoming wedding and "stuff". Happy New Year.
